As we all know, Superstorm Sandy hit our city hard, leaving many of us without power and flooding our streets and subways. However, for some, the effect was even more catastrophic. For some, they have discovered themselves in a situation where food is hard to come by and a bed for the night is a struggle to find.

SHELTERS:

The initial place to head is the Intake Shelters for Men and Women. Located over in Manhattan, they will then relocate people to closer areas if you live in Brooklyn.

Bay Ridge: This Salvation Army run venture provides emergency food by appointment (718.238.2991)

Intake Shelters for Men and Women: The Intake Shelter is located in Manhattan but will relocate people to closer shelters in Brooklyn if possible.
