Target First Saturday at the Brooklyn Museum runs free programs of art and entertainment on the first Saturday of every month, extending past the usual closing time of 6pm until the much later 11pm. Capacity is sometimes limited, in which case free tickets are distributed from the visitor’s center. Museum members get preferential access to a pool of these tickets starting at 2pm from the membership desk. A range of poetry readings, movies, dance parties, art and musical presentations are all offered. Parking is $4 beginning at 5pm. Refreshments of salads and sandwiches are available in the museum café, which can be washed down with wine, beer and soft drinks from the cash bar. If your going to Target first Saturday there’s no need for any other things to do in brooklyn on Saturday. http://www.brooklynmuseum.org/visit/first_saturdays.php
